New Obssession

Hello all, (if anyone reads this that is)
It's been awhile since i've updated, school, blah blah, anyways, I have a new obssession, just like the rest of the Whedonfans. (I'm a little late, i'm aware.)

Firefly and Serenity.

So last night I had a dream I won the Georgia Lottery, a cool 180 mil. And in my dream, my first reaction was to call Joss Whedon and tell him I would fund a Trilogy. Which I did.

Then i woke up. Dissappointed and angry don't really cover it, but gorram it, I want my trilogy.

Anyways, here's a little drabble. Mal/River. Title and quote from Frost.

And Miles To Go Before I Sleep )

I've written about half of a 15 chapter, part one of an epic. Firefly crossed with a few Buffy elements.
Should be getting the first chapter back from Beta, so I'll post around.

Have a shiny day!

Question..

I've had a strange idea and wanted to know if anyone would be interested in writing for a HP RPG.

Details... )

Just a quote from a fabulous story I got rec'd by Jade Okelani over on Portkey.org. It's called 'Infinity Moments.'

"Harry . . . are you all right?"

"No." Oh God! Why did I go and say that? Why?? Quick, think of something plausible; I'm tired from the long trip. Haven't had much sleep the last few days. Still feeling a bit muzzy from the bender I went on last night. There, lots of options to choose from. Just have to pick one as soon as she asks--

"What's the matter?"

"I want to kiss you."

THAT WASN'T ONE OF THE PLAUSIBLE OPTIONS!

OK I am a fairly manly guy. I don't cry at weddings, I don't cry at movies. I love to eat meat, watch sports, and listen to rock.

That said.

I am re-reading HBP (along with the rest of the fandom) and I reached this part:

"I am not worried, Harry. I am with you."

At the same time this happened, strangest thing, dust flew up from no where and got in my eye. Kinda of an odd occurance really, that a few tears would well up at that exact moment, caused by the dust, you understand.

I think that might now be my favorite line from the book.

Just barely seconded by:

"You don't have to call me 'Sir', Professor."

That's all.

About Time!!!

After almost three weeks of moving, my computer fighting me, and waiting on the net company to get my dsl hooked up, I finnally have the internet. What a time for it to go down! I lost the internet the day before HBP came out. I"ll post my thoughts (however late they are) later tonight.

All I really have to say right now is:

"You don't have to call me sir, Professor."

DMB and HP

Well i'm going to the Dave Matthews Band concert tonight, about which I am too entirely excited. There might be a manly squee in my future but I haven't decided yet.

HBP comes out Saturday, I can't believe it. It seems like it should still be months away. Amazon better not fuck up my order and it had better arrive here on time. I'll more than likely read it straight through, how much of a geek am I?

That's all in my world.

Hmmm and a Good Book

I haven't updated in awhile, mostly because I don't think anyone reads this, but that's fine.

I read a good book recently. Queen of the Slayers by Nancy Holder, it picks up pretty much on the bus at the end of season 7. It goes through Buffy's sorta relationship with The Immortal, which is made out to be a lot more than it really was on Angel. I read on Amazon where Joss said that he fully backed the novel, so I guess we can assume that's what happens next. It really is quite good, but almost all of the novels in which Nancy Holder is involved in writing are good. The Gatekeeper Trilogy is one of the best trilogies i've ever read. Not great works of fiction of course, i'm not talking Dickens or Wells here, but still. Good entertaining reads.

Speaking of H.G. Wells...

I saw War of the Worlds the night it came out. Pretty much what i expected: Huge visual effects (Spielburg), with a half-ass plot only made slightly better by Tom Cruise. Who can actually act sometimes and not just act crazy over his half-his-age girlfriend/fiance. The only real problem I had was it pretty much just a recreation of the first one, with better graphics. Really shouldn't be suprised I guess.

In other news, can't wait to see Ron Howard's interpretation of The Da Vinci Code. It's got Tom Hanks in the starring role and one of my personal favorite actors in a supporting role in the form of Paul Bettany. I really like that guy, really good actor from what I've seen. As a general rule I hate romantic comedies, rather it's a guy thing or just a taste thing, i'm not sure, but Bettany was in Wimbledon and I actually liked that movie.

Sarah Michelle Gellar has signed on to star in a new movie, whose name I can't place right now, but it's supposed to be a return to her more general buffy-like role, where she should stay. As long as there are no more Scooby Doo movies.

In personal news I've up to like seven chapters on my Spuffy fic. Longest fic i've ever actually gotten time to write, and am still writing. I've gotten a lot of positive feedback for it, so i'm happy about that. The link is in my previous post if anyone's interested, hell go crazy and leave a review while your at it.

Nothing more to say.
